What is Netatmo?

Netatmo is a French company which manufactures different smart home devices. Founded in 2011, it has launched a variety of products including security cameras, weather sensors, an internet-connected smoke detector and others. The company was bought in November 2018 by the French group Legrand to broaden its range of connected products and strengthen its presence in the smart home market.

The brand name Netatmo comes from a combination of two words InterNet and atmosphere. The company’s first product, the Weather Station, marks the beginning of their story. Since then they have developed other products to support customers in the world of the smart home. They have also improved their Weather Station in the last 8 years.

With the Netatmo Weather Station you’ll know exactly when it’s time to ventilate your home, which is important, considering that we spend 80% of our time indoors (now in the times of COVID-19 even more), and yet indoor air is often more polluted than outdoor air. The Netatmo Weather Station measures indoor pollution levels through a CO2 sensor, sending you alerts so you can air out your home when necessary and live in a healthier indoor environment.

The other two products we will present more in-depth are their Smart Thermostat and Video Doorbell.

All compatible Netatmo smart home devices:

Netatmo Smart Home Weather Station

Compatible with: Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa.

With the Netatmo Weather Station you can measure, analyse, and understand your indoor and outdoor environment to adapt your daily life and optimise your comfort at home. It includes an indoor and outdoor unit that measure:

  • Temperature
  • Humidity
  • Air Quality
  • CO2
  • Sound
  • Barometric Pressure
  • Weather Forecast

The Weather Station gathers information about your environment both outdoors and indoors and enables you to access your own weather data straight from your smartphone, tablet or computer. You can configure weather alerts and receive personalised notifications when your Weather Station detects a change in the weather. You can adapt your outdoor activities and keep an eye on your garden as well!

Here’s how Netatmo Weather Station will work in your KNX or Loxone home:

Another option for adding a Weather Station is to implement a KNX Weather Station, here's our top 10 choices.

Netatmo Smart Thermostat

Compatible with: Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant.

With Netatmo's smart thermostat you will simply save energy without compromising your comfort. Control the heating remotely and enjoy optimal temperature at home as soon as you arrive. Save energy while you sleep and monitor your energy consumption during the day.

Create routines that include your KNX devices and let your home cool and lights turn off when you leave the front door (use Geofencing to achieve this, available in Alexa and Apple).

Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell

Compatible with: Apple HomeKit.

The Netatmo Video Doorbell lets you see who’s at the door and answer it from anywhere. It immediately alerts you when someone rings it, and detects intruders lurking outside your door. See and talk to your visitors live on your smartphone!

If you’re not at home, you can give instructions so you don't miss a delivery. And if you’re still getting dressed, compliment your guests on their outfits and let them know you're coming!
