Bring IoT devices to KNX

Integrate IoT devices (e.g. Matter) to KNX. Assign group addresses directly to IoT devices and control them from KNX as if they were just your normal KNX device.

🎬 Video tutorial

Follow our video instructions on how to assign group addresses to your Matter devices.

Quick setup

1. Connect your IoT device to 1Home

Before you begin you have to first connect your IoT device to the 1Home Dashboard.

If you haven't done this already, follow our guides:

2. Bridge IoT device KNX

Go under Integrations -> KNX -> Bridge Devices to KNX and click on Add Device. In the image below we have previously already added a Matter Button, now let's also add a Hue light.

Add IoT device

Select the device that you would like to control from KNX.

Select IoT device

Click on expand device to see all the available KNX group objects.

Select IoT device

As you can see, there are all the classic KNX group objects available to be linked with group addresses.

See a list of all supported group objects for different device types.

In ETS you can create your group addresses that you will use to link with your IoT device. Below is our example used in this tutorial.

Hue light in ETS

Then you can click the pencil button on the right side of each group object and choose your group address.

Add group address

Tips:

  1. Upload ETS file for easier search - When selecting group addresses you can upload your ETS project file (.knxproj) and we will import all your group addresses.
  2. Assign multiple group addresses - You can assign more than one group address to the same group objects, for example for central control group address that controls all lights.

4. Managing configuration

You can enable/disable each device bridging if needed.

In case you remove the device and want to use another device with the configuration that you have created, once the initial device is deleted an Replace device option will be shown.
